Health & Safety
The safety of our staff and customers is of great importance to us.
ACS is an accredited member of ‘SAFE contractor’, a scheme which gives clients the confidence of knowing that their contractors operate in a safe and responsible way and also comply with Health & Safety legislation. We ensure that all ACS staff are fully aware of any hazards on site, as well as all safety and emergency procedures, and are fully appraised of all security requirements. Full risk assessments and method statements are carried out prior to any new contract start up.
COSHH and use of materials and equipment
In accordance with Health & Safety regulations and ACS company policy, COSHH information and assessments will be issued for all chemical products supplied by ACS for use by their cleaning staff. In addition to these data sheets, all bottles and containers are clearly labelled with basic product details and handling precautions. Electrical equipment is regularly checked for safety and is maintained to a high standard. Annual checks in accordance with regulations are carried out in the proper manner. Colour coding is enforced to avoid cross-contamination.
Protecting people from injury and suffering is ultimately controlled by law but we recognise and accept a strong moral responsibility for the well-being of our employees and clients while we are working on any site. Our company Health & Safety policy is made available to all our clients. The Health & Safety of our operatives, clients and members of the general public is paramount.
